There's going to be a river of Android devices coming in the next two years. If you want "open", buy Android. The only reason to jailbreak in my opinion was because there was really no viable iphone alternative before the Droid, and jailbreaking was a necessary evil if you wanted those extra options on a decent next-gen smartphone. But honestly now, I don't see the point. If you want multitasking and skin customization, just go 'Droid and don't bother trying to hack the damn iPhone.
