Just because the FBI seizes all your stuff and refuses to comment doesn't necessarily mean you aren't actually guilty.
That would be a logical assumption. However Microsoft frequently ignores both logic and reason.

A form of this does exist--it's called metal laser sintering. http://www.eos.info/en/products/metal-laser-sinter ....
Except education can't be forced. Those who are so weak-minded they *have* to believe in a super-being in the clouds, as a crutch for their own inadequacy, are not going to be convinced by logic and reason. What always baffles me are scientists who can compartmentalize so successfully that they can pray on Sundays and still do science the rest of the week. Weird.!

I love Canadian healthcare. I don't mind paying taxes for it. It's better than paying $20,000 for an operation you may need unexpectedly.?
Where the hell do you find prime rib for < $2/lb? |

FTA: Even if he does receive his court-ordered euro46,000, that's less than a fifth of the average house price in Ireland.I'd be pretty upset about that too. Wouldn't he still have the deed to the property and therefore own whatever they build on it though?

I hear your question, and here's my answer:Nothing gives you the right to benefit from my hard work. However, if I want to live in a peaceful, stable society, it is in my own best interest to chip in.That concept may make some people's skin crawl. They'll call me a collectivist. But if they interact positively with anyone who received a public education, anyone who has been protected by the police or assisted by firefighters, driven on roads, lived in a country safe from external military invasion, anyone who has ever collected unemployment or social security, then they are hypocrites. The chances that they've paid their fair share or more is slim. Many of the social services that the government provides are absolutely critical to our country's stability and growth, and they are provided by the government precisely because no non-governmental organization took the job.You can go too far with social services of course, and so we have to be careful about that, but this recently over-promoted idea that we'd be better off if it was 100% every man for himself is absolutely myopic. If one really believes that, then they should go someplace where there is no government intervention. What you will find is that these places are usually subsistence farmers if you're lucky and warlord territories if you're not. There is no successful society on earth that does not practice some degree of collectivism. So I guess another way to answer your question: you have the right to benefit from my hard work because it helps me live in a stable country.Working out the details of how much is what all the debate is about. Dismissing it entirely is idiocy.

If anything the current economic situation ought to make it clear to you that these "knowledgable" people are extremely fallible individuals. Economics is not some obtuse voodoo, monetary policy follows basic rules of supply and demand just like everything else, you're either expanding or contracting the money supply via interest rate manipulations. Low interest rates mean more borrowing and that increased investment usually yields to higher economic growth, high interest rates cool borrowing and slow economic growth. |
